Our bulls are sired by SAV Cinch, Bannockburn Maples Kodiak, and JEM Pioneer. 3C is out of a  good milking 2 year old Potential heifer and sire by a Pioneer Bull we raised.  2c and 7C are both sired by SAV Cinch who is a Iron Mountain son.  2C is out of a Glen Islay cow we purchased from Don Currie in Ontario.  He is currently 1440 lbs and looks very impressive. He was shown last summer and was Champion Bull calf at Windsor heritage show.  7C is his half brother and out of a Net Worth cow that always produces a great calf every year.  This bull was also shown last summer and was very competitive.

12C and 8C are both sired by our herd sire Bannockburn Maples Kodiak who is probably one of the best  bulls we have ever owned .  He has produced some great calves for us.  12C is out of a young Bismark cow that has a beautiful udder.  8C is out of a Net Worth cow that always produces a great calf every year.

Heritage Beef Classic Show

Just returned from the 250th Anniversary Show of the Hants Co Exhibition in Windsor, Nova Scotia.  With 240 head of cattle it was very well attended by producers and spectators and very well organized by Bob Best, Victor Oulton, Gary Dill and others. We were so pleased that Gary Dill was able to attend the show on the weekend as we have know him for many years and has been in poor health.  Our sympathy to Gary's family as he passed away on Monday following the show.
Lance Leachman was the judge for all breeds for the weekend.  We exhibited 9 head at the show,  6 Angus and 3 Simmentals for Stephen & Jennie as they were at a sale in Quebec. Their Simmental yearling heifer was Reserve Grand Champion as well as Reserve Supreme overall in the show and their 2 year old pair won their class.
In the Angus show we exhibited Champion and Reserve Bulls with our SAV Cinch calves and JEM Cinch 2c was 3rd in the Supreme Bull Class.  In the female class we had 1st and 2nd heifer calves, Junior Champion, 2nd yearling heifer and Champion Female with our 2 year old pair.  She went on to become Supreme Champion of the show.  The Show was a class act  and one that should have lots of future as it was announced it will be back bigger and better in 2016.
Heading to Victoriaville, Quebec next weekend for our final show of the year.  Looking forward to meeting lots of people there.

Cows on Pasture

The cows are enjoying the pasture these days, and we were able to take some pictures this evening of some of the calves we are excited about.

We have a good selection of Purebred Angus bull calves, as well as a crossbred bull calf (pictured below) that will be  FOR SALE!

We hope to exhibit some of these calves at the upcoming late summer and fall shows including Old Home Week, Charlottetown, PE,  NB Beef Expo, Sussex NB, and  Expo Boeuf, Victoriaville, Quebec.

We are extremely happy with our herd sire pictured below :  Bannockburn Maples Kodiak. He is a HF Kodiak Grandson and we have used him on almost all of our cow herd last year and this year.

Visitors are welcome at anytime - just call the farm ahead to make sure we will be home.

Julie is taking lots of French classes, so we can even offer services 'EN FRANCAIS'!

Herd Sire: Bannockburn Maples Kodiak. Three Years old. HF Kodiak Grandson. He is the sire of almost all of the calves this year.

We only had a couple of AI calves this past year,  this is a January Bull calf by
SAV CINCH, out of a Net Worth cow.

Another SAV CINCH January calf out of Glen Islay Pride 14S
