More Expo Boeuf pics

JEM Farms and Mutch Farms exhibited  7 head  (5 calves and 2 cows) at  Expo Boeuf, Victoriaville, Quebec on  Thanksgiving weekend. A great chance to meet many other cattle people and participate in an exciting beef show.

The 2 year old Simmental class had a full ring with 9 pairs showing

The bull calves having their last drink before leaving for their new homes in Quebec. We sold the 5 calves but Stephen & Jennie did come home with the cows although they received lots of interest too.

Edit: One more sold! Expo Boeuf Update

Well the trailer will be a lot lighter coming home from Victoriaville at Expo Boeuf !

Seven went up , only TWO coming home!

All three bulls ( Old Post Angus Bull , Grizzly Angus Bull calf, Simmi bull calf) all sold, as well as JEM Rosebud (Net Worth) , and  JEM Classy Lady 11Z ( Bismark)   all SOLD to Quebec  and New Bruinswick Buyers!


Results from Mutch Farms and JEM Farms are as follows:

Bull Calf:
Grizzly Bull Calf, Champion Bull Calf - SOLD
Old Post Bull Calf, no placing- SOLD

Heifer Calf (20 in class)
JEM Classy Lady , pulled out of heat and 3rd overall - SOLD
JEM Rosebud, pulled out of heat and 4th overall  - SOLD

Mature Cow:
JEM Classy Lady 42T - Second in cow class

Simmental:
Zodiac 2 year old - 2nd in 2 yr old class ( 9 in class), and Reserve Senior Champion
Zodiac's bull calf also SOLD.

Good Luck!

Good Luck to Stephen and Jennie, and Ernie and Joanne as they travel to Expo Boeuf this weekend in Victoriaville, Quebec . The Angus and Simmental both show on Saturday, October 6th.

Stephen and Jennie are showing JEM Classy Lady 42T mature cow, with her bull calf at side, as well as their Simmental 2 Year old and bull calf.

Ernie and Joanne are exhibiting JEM Old Post  , January bull calf ( pictures below), and 2 heifer calves:  JEM Rosebud ( Net Worth ), and JEM Classy Lady (Bismark).

Also good luck to Bannockburn Valley Farm- the Dixon clan as they are also going to Victoriaville.

Angus Supreme Champion Truro Ex

 Congratulation to Stephen & Jennie Mutch.    JEM Classy Lady 42 T named Supreme Champion at Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition .  Owned by Mutch Farms and bred by Julie Mutch

JEM Classy Lady 42T (Sitz Tradition RLS 02) was named the Grand Champion Angus Female and Supreme Champion Female at the Provincial Exhibition at Old Home Week in Charlottetown.  42T was also named the Grand Champion Angus Female and the Supreme Champion Female at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition in Truro.  Her calf, MFS Grizzley 8Z (Soo Line Grizzly 9034) was the Reserve Grand Champion Angus Male at Old Home Week, Reserve Champion Bull Calf in the Igenity Angus Classic, and Grand Champion Angus Male at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition in Truro.

truro results

Truro Exhibition.

Good Luck to all exhibitors this weekend at the Truro Exhibition, especially to Stephen and Jennie ( Mutch Farms) . They are showing in the Angus Show Thursday, August 23rd at 7pm with their Classy Lady 42T cow and bull calf. They are also showing their Simmental 2 year old and bull calf in the Open Simmental show.

Their Simmental heifer calf sells Friday night at the Simmental Sale.

Julie is babysitting for Stephen and Jennie-  not kids, but their dog Duke. Though he requires just as much attention as a child! He is a growing puppy with lots of energy!

And it was a great day!

Great beef show at Old Home Week in Charlottetown this past weekend and glad to see exhibitors from the other Maritime provinces attend.

Pleased to have received Reserve Champion Angus Female with our 2 year old pair and Champion Heifer calf with our Net Worth calf. Also 2nd & 4th with Bismark heifer calves and top Breeders Herd. Our Bismark and Old Post bull calves 1st and 3rd in the Angus futurity and 1st and 2nd with the heifer calves in the futurity. We were very proud that Mutch Farms(our son Stephen and his wife Jennie) exhibited Supreme Champion Female with JEM Classy Lady, Angus cow calf pair and also had the Supreme Champion Male with their Simmental calf. It certainly was an exceptional weekend showing for our family. Next show stop will be in Truro , NS where Stephen and Jennie will be showing Angus and Simmental. Check out their Champion Simmental Heifer calf that will be selling Friday night. MFS Willow 3Z sired by TNT Gunner N208 was the Champion Simmental Heifer Calf and Reserve Junior Female Champion at Old Home Week in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. She sells this Friday in Truro at the Salt Water Classic in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Ready for the Show

Almost ready for Old Home Week show beginning tomorrow August 16. Will be showing 2 year olds- a Tom Boy and a Touchdown, one with a Bismark bull calf and one with a Bismark heifer calf, an Old Post bull calf, a Net Worth heifer calf, another Bismark heifer calf and a Bismark yearling. Over 60 entries for the Angus show. The show order for Friday. Open Angus show begins at 8:30 am, followed by the open Shorthorn show, and finally the Commercial open show. This is Saturday’s show order. Open Hereford show begins at 8:30 am, followed by the open Simmental show, Angus Futurity, and finally the Supreme Champion Looking forward to seeing other exhibitors and visitors at the show. There will be a Angus social in the barn after the show on Friday.

Angus Show PEI

Great to hear that the Angus show at PEI Provincial Exhibition will be the largest breed show with 67 entries from the Maritime provinces. There are 160 beef cattle entries that arrive at the show on Thursday, August 16th and the Angus showing  on Friday , August 17 at 830 am with Mr. Graham Sharp Lacombe, AB judging.


On Saturday morning at 830am there will be the Angus futurity show where cattle that have been nominated earlier in the year compete using a 3 panel judge system.


Training continues here at JEM Farms.  Working on 8 head for the show, 5 calves , a yearling heifer and two  2 year olds. Always fun breaking 2 year olds!!!   Looking forward to seeing everyone  in  Charlottetown at the Old Home Week show what promisies to be a  great display of not only Angus cattle, but Hereford, Commercial, Simmental and Shorthorns too.
